"Vulnerable" is a stage project resulting from the collaboration between Eneko Gil and Koldo Arostegi. This piece arises from the choreographic research on masculinity norms conducted by Eneko Gil in recent years.

After delving into the complex emotional world enclosing the virile construction process, both creators have developed a desire to explore masculine vulnerability.

What stories are hidden behind the masculine physicalities? What silences and involuntary efforts are hidden in order not to reveal our vulnerability?

Using movement and words they will endeavour to reveal parts of themselves which are difficult to display. They will deal with the stage performance as a process to recognise themselves and present other ways of relating to vulnerability via male bodies. Composer and musician Perú Galbetea will be sharing the stage with them.

SYNOPSIS

I love seeing you so free yet it terrifies me to see you so free, so vulnerable, and so free to make a fool of yourself. I’m afraid you’re like a child at times.

What am I afraid of?

What’ll happen if I stop, breathe and answer? “I don’t know. I’m not sure. I need somebody to give me a helping hand.”

You and I’ve both got our rituals to (not) talk about this. “Hell yeah!”, “bloody hell!”, “Yeah, man”, “another round”, “of course, damn it!” we both shout at the same time, linking one sentence to another, while the rest join in.

You are going to see three men on stage trying to show something more than what you usually see. They will be generous, they will be brave, and it will be uncomfortable… It will be in silence, until the voice tears that fine membrane of shame that covers the most fragile parts.
