Gutun Zuria Bilbao. Bilbao International Literature Festival is a meeting point revolving around literature. The 2023 edition will take place from 28th of March to 1st of June under the heading “Write, Edit, Read”.
It is a Festival that proposes new artistic perspectives regarding reading and new literary perspectives concerning art, which connects the new territories of ideas, images, forms and times. These are questions through which local and international creators walk through every year from the word, essay, publishing, anthropology, sociology, philosophy, journalism, research, visual and live arts.
Under the heading Write / Edit / Read, the 2023 edition is based on the premise of simultaneity and multiplicity that characterises society, in order to focus on writing, publishing and reading as part of one same practice.
The Festival reflects on new ways of creating, producing, distributing, communicating and consuming literature, and always from Azkuna Zentroa’s commitment to hosting and encouraging non-hegemonic and non-homogenous contents and formats. Therefore, this year’s programme features authors to whom nothing in the literary process is alien, ranging from writing to activism, from the studio to the workshop, from writing to communication, from fiction to publication, from individual work to its collective activation.
