“Some choreographies” presents a dialogue between ballerina Ramona Caia and a delightful collection of edited and reproduced videos showing different dance styles. The choreography follows a mimetic process of numerous fragments put together in a quick sequence unearthed from the history of dance and performed as shown on film and internet in the search for sensitive kinetic matter. The ballerina portrays, transforms, and connects providing the shape for the body portrayed in those images, analysing their dynamics, freedom and linguistic immediacy from a neutral perspective uprooted from the imagination during the execution of a precise choreography. The creation is a meta-choreography exploring the connection between life performance and dance on screen.
In the second part, an original video by artist Roberto Fassone showing a sequence of visual choreographies forming a symbolic landscape without human footprints seeking a relationship between the body on stage while reflecting on the intangible matter of which dance is made.
Azkuna Zentroa presents the Japoco Jenna work as part of Dantzaldia, the International Dance Festival of La Fundición.
