Following her experience as a dancer in various national and international projects and companies, she dived into this individual proposal as both creator and performer. The outcome is "DESaNUDA", her first creation.
This show arose from the search for new ways of exploring dance using a harness and the dynamics governing it, i.e. the pendulum, fall, weightlessness and suspension. Based on the materials and components she works with, a common rhetoric revolving around the knot and “hanging” elements is created.
The “DESaNUDA” show has been recommended by the Circus Commission of the Spanish Network of Theatres and was included in the Puncat Catalogue in Catalonia. It has also received a special mention from the Umore Azoka’ 22 Jury.for its creativity, research and innovation.

“DESaNUDA” is a contemporary and suspended dance show that deals with the knot and the surrender to bare emptiness.
Interacting with the floating structure and the pendular elements hanging from it, this interdisciplinary piece explores the weightless body and the multiple embodiments in response to the strangulation of a knot and the instability caused.
In “DESaNUDA” we come across a knotted body searching for the loose end.

After graduating in Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Maitane Sarralde discovered dance through improvisation. Since then, she has focused on training and committed herself to the creation and interpretation of contemporary dance, incorporating circus and martial arts.
She discovered vertical dance with Magalie Lanriot in 2016 during the FOR Dance Theatre course at Olga Roriz´s company. Subsequently, she received training at La Faktoria Choreografic Center and Pablo Ibarluzea International School (Corpo Espaço Criação).
She began working in “Ikimilikiliklik” and “AMA” at the Marie de Jongh Company in 2020 and, at the same time, she independently explored the transition between floor dance and harness dance. Driven by her curiosity, she started to develop a language which converses between suspended bodies, rope and word. Her first performance, “DESaNUDA”, is the outcome of this research.
She currently continues researching into the narrative of the dynamics and the elements governing a “land-less” dance. Based on the mechanics of rigging, she explores the potential of a body that mvoes unhindered between air and earth.
