After premiering at Oriente Occidente, the Rovereto Contemporary Dance Festival (Italy), the choreographer Nicola Galli is presenting "Deserto tattile" the 2nd episode in his choreography research revolving around the desert and notion of landscape.
From the 1st episode titled “Deserto digitale” (2018), his imaginative vision of the desert yet again takes the shape of his renewed desire to research the characteristics of contemporary society and reflection of human activity in the world, i.e. growing social solitude, anthropic speed likewise the “evaporation” of the concepts of distance and limit.

The choreographer’s poetry (dedicated to the absence of hierarchies among languages and elements comprising the) combines and condenses gesture, light and sound into an organic interdependent relationship to generate a figurative archive narrating the desert as an uninhabited physical space, the landscape of a body and existential internal condition.
The gulf of the places in the world and depth of the human soul take shape on stage pierced by silent opaque travelling figures inviting our gaze to contemplate muscular tactile images while losing ourselves in the multiple perspectives which loom up to dissolve in the magma of sound capable of suspending the cadence of day-to-day life until the space-time perception becomes unravelled.
Azkuna Zentroa presents the Nicola Galli work as part of Dantzaldia, the International Dance Festival of La Fundición.
