AIMAR ARRIOLA (Markina-Xemein, 1976) works as a curator, editor and researcher.
He holds a PhD from the Department of Visual Cultures at Goldsmiths, University of London. He has organised exhibitions and public programmes at MACBA; The Showroom, London; Centro Centro, Madrid; Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao; and Tabakalera, Donostia, among others. He is currently a member of the Technical Committee of the eremuak programme and an Associate Researcher in the AZ programme.
Since 2020 and for two years, Aimar Arriola has been developing the Un deseo de forma project, an investigation into the relationship between art and queer perspectives within the Centre's programme, combining his most recent work on body and archive issues within the field of visual culture with more specific questions related to art and plastic arts.
These questions tentatively serve as a starting point for a research project whose main methodology is curatorial practice and which takes as its premise the interlocution and collaboration of different artists with whom he will work with in the long run.

Curator Aimar Arriola continues with the project Un deseo de forma as a Research Associate at Azkuna Zentroa. The project began in autumn 2020 in response to the invitation received to develop his own line of work that would accentuate the presence of queer-cuir perspectives and art within the Centre's programming.
